Directions To Downtown Savannah Georgia

Hey there, wanderer! So, you're heading to the enchanting heart of Georgia, the oh-so-charming downtown Savannah. Let's get you there without any detours through the peach orchards, yeah?

First things first: Where ya comin' from?

Whether you're rolling in from the north, south, east, or west, we've got you covered. Let's dive in, shall we?

From the North (Atlanta, Macon, etc.)

Alright, you're cruising down I-75, and you've got a good ol' time ahead of you. Keep on truckin' past Macon, and once you hit the I-16 split, take a left. Savannah's about an hour and a half from there. You'll pass through some charming towns, so keep your eyes peeled for any promising pit stops!

Oh, and watch out for that pesky speed trap just before the Savannah exit. The last thing you need is a ticket ruining your Southern charm offensive.

From the South (Jekyll Island, Jacksonville, etc.)

You're in luck, my friend! Savannah's a straight shot up I-95. Just keep on keepin' on, and before you know it, you'll be sipping on a mint julep (or sweet tea, if you're feelin' fancy) in the heart of the city.

Now, don't you go speedin' through the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, either. You never know when you might spot a gator or two!

From the East (Charleston, Hilton Head, etc.)

Well, isn't that a pleasant surprise? You're already in the neighborhood! Just hop on I-95 and head north. Savannah's about an hour and a half away. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

And hey, if you've got the time, why not stop by the Isle of Hope on your way? It's like a little slice of Savannah history, right on the water.

From the West (Augusta, Statesboro, etc.)

Alright, you're cruising down I-20, and you're almost there! Once you hit I-95, take a right, and you'll be in Savannah before you can say "peach cobbler."

Now, don't you go getting lost in the enchanting forests of the Altamaha River. It's easy to do, but we promise, it's not as fun as it sounds.

Now that you're here, what's next?

First things first, park your ride. There are plenty of garages and lots downtown, but they can fill up fast. Your best bet is to grab a spot at the Savannah Visitor Center or the Georgia State Railroad Museum. Both are centrally located and have plenty of space.

Once you're parked, it's time to explore! Downtown Savannah is a treasure trove of history, culture, and some of the best food this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Don't miss out on the iconic River Street, the beautiful squares, or the hauntingly beautiful Bonaventure Cemetery (yes, it's as beautiful as it sounds).

And hey, if you're feeling a little lost, just ask a local. We're a friendly bunch, and we love showing off our city. Just don't ask us to pronounce "Telfair" for you. We'll never tell.

So, what are you waiting for?

Grab your shades, your comfiest shoes, and your sense of adventure, and let's get this show on the road! Savannah's waiting, and she's got a story to tell. So, buckle up, buttercup, and let the good times roll!

And remember, no matter where you're coming from or where you're going, Savannah's always here to welcome you with open arms (and maybe a glass of sweet tea). So, come on down, and let's make some memories together. You're gonna love it here, I just know it!

Yours in Southern hospitality,
